chadpur pendant, named after the small town of chadpur where our design for it came to fruition, was created through workshops with our skilled artisans, in their homes and at the training centre there. individual circular pieces create motifs that have been long used in the traditional crafts of bangladesh. these are then sewn together by hand to give shape to a shade that will hang in subtle sophistication, whilst creating drama when lighted.   

as with our other wares, chadpur has been designed in australia and hand crafted from start to finish in remote, rural communities of bangladesh; any irregularities in weaving and braiding are true to the handmade nature of this basket. your purchase translates to direct employment opportunities to our artisans, allowing them to earn a fair living wage, while living and working from home.
